A champion of female entrepreneurs, in 2017 Alison founded The National Women’s Enterprise Network (NWEN), with the aim of supporting and encouraging women throughout the UK to start their own business.
NWEN’s principle activities are the ‘Make It Your Business’ events, website and online advice forum. It is also a campaigning platform for change, working closely with government and entrepreneurship groups around the UK.
The ‘Make It Your Business’ events and meet ups run all round the country throughout the year. They take the form of informal seminars, where established female entrepreneurs share their stories and secrets.
The online support forum offers advice, information and support for aspiring entrepreneurs.
In 2018, Alison was appointed Government Champion for Women Entrepreneurs.
In 2020 Alison became Ambassador for the British Library Business & IP Centres - with the aim of launching a Business and IP Centre in every library in the UK by 2030.
